Durfee's is an old family owned business started in 1930 that strives to support the community and treat both our customers and employees like family.
We have a total of 20 full and part-time employees to serve you. Both Ray Durfee (son of the store's founders) and Paul Durfee (Ray's son) are available at the store on a full time basis. We provide training for our employees via True Value videos, the National Hardware Retail Association Certification Program and individual training. Many of our employees stay with us for years. Our first employee, Chet Stott, was hired in 1933 and worked in the electric/appliance department for over 35 years. His wife, Olive, worked in our office during that time. Bob Miller was our tool department manager for over 35 years; his father Bill made keys and re-keyed locks for over 40 years!
